Guess S/S 2011 Lookbook

A laid back attitude but still a chic, i what the Guess spring/summer 2011 look book is all about.

It features the latest fashion trends in youthful way, presenting eye-catching combinations , into simple outfits. These looks are easily wearable and can look good on everyone. The main trends in this collection is, denim, stripes, shorts, wide leg pants and ruffles.
The pieces presented are fairly versatile, so mixing and matching to create different outfits is not difficult. And so can be accessorized using the layering technique.
The the color palette is pretty basic, however accessorizes help to balance out the outfits, making it more interesting. The look book also helps with the different challenge of mixing different prints. Mixing polka dots and stripes is achievable by opting for similar shades and using rather discreet prints. The rolled up jeans style is also mastered in the look above. Where matching it with are heels and a camisole top, keeps it looking light and simple.
So will you be rocking any of these trends for summer? Or are the mixed prints too daring? Personally, my favourite look is the one with the tan short shorts, basic white shirt, over sized navy chunky knit all pulled together will a cute summer hat! What's you're favourite look?
'till next time, xoxo.

Olivia Palermo & Johannes Hubel: Apropos Journal S/S 2011

The City star and model boyfriend, are the most sought-after couples when it comes to fashion world. And now they've come together to showcase the very best of Apropos Journal's Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Similar to what they did for the Mango ad for A/W 2010. But this time less glamour and more comfort is on the menu for S/S.

This loose white jumpsuit teamed with a casual navy over sized blazer and simple black stilettos, makes this look effortlessly cool. Johannes Hubel complements Olivia outfits well, by basic black trousers and V-neck jumper, completed with smart white shoes.

Here we see Johannes wear a baby pink jumper with a cute bow tie to give the look a preppy feel as the jeans even out the balance by adding a laid back touch

This conservative, Blair Waldorf inspired dress, clinches at the right places creating a ruffles effect starting at the waist working upwards towards the neckline. With black polka-dots on the top part of the dress gives it a 1950's feel, evening out the body's curves to create an image of a perfect figure (even though Olivia already has one!)

This fun and flirty outfit, creates a colour block effect at the top half Olivia's body, whilst playing safe with a black swimsuit to lengthen her legs. The combination of a orange jumper mixed with a green cardigan is nicely put together with a bright yellow mini satchel. And we cannot forget about the lovely array of a piled-on effect necklace to add femininity to the rather out-there outfit.

A preppy suit and white shoes is very common. However, with the trousers ending above the ankles, a checkered shirt, a simple blue tie and a red corsage, it outfit is completely transformed to give it that extra oomph. that only a beautiful German model can pull off.

These amazing outfits compliment each other so well. Matching khaki parka jackets and brown footwear couldn't get any better. With a simple black pencil skirt and white tee for Olivia and blue jeans and top combo for Johannes is perfect for days out in the park.

This cool s/s outfit shows how white and black can go together in the day without looking formal.
This bright yellow evening cocktail dress is perfect for 2011. Teamed with that older haircut and dark eyes, the combination looks beautiful on Olivia. Bring on the Sun!

an edgy look for Hubel. Light trousers and matching jacket, mixed with a printed white t-shirt, is perfect for them breezy spring days. And them gorgeous Ray bans complete the look.

My favourite photo, from the look book is this. Back to basics in a black leather jacket and shoes for Johannes and matching black dress on top and clashing blue heels, is perfect for this couple. Both dark haired stars are sporting a basic white shirt for the identical touch, whilst Olivia adds her own touch with a glamorous necklace.
For more footage check out this video.
So what did you think? Was it better than the Mango ad or are you sick of this more than perfect couple?

What they wore #02: Golden Globes 2011

The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (yesterday) in Beverly Hills, Calif, hosted the Golden Globes 2011. Here are a selection of (in my opinion) the best dressed women of the night.
Black Swan's supporting actress Mila Kunis, missed out on a golden globe award but wore a fabulous dark emerald Vera Wang dress. The asymmetric style and long draped gown is spot on for the red carpet. Accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a elegantly high up -do, this look is perfect for the girl of the moment.

This pretty lady stole the show with this huge number. Rocking a Dark Brown Sequined Marchesa Dress Dark Brown teamed with a causal hair with messy bangs, shows how wearing a big dress can look good, without looking OTT. Nice job Olivia Wilde.

Sandra Bullock is wearing a soft pink Jenny Packham dress. The delicate dress, drapes elegantly onto the red carpet, clinching beautifully at the waist as it's swept onto one shoulder like a Indian sari. The crystals embroidery teamed with the heavy bangs and light make-up complete with look nicely.

The normally conservative Gossip Girl actress, Leighton Meester stepped out in a nude ruched-crescent dress from Burberry Prorsum. This soft long maxi dress oozes vintage all over, but is balanced out by the ruffles at the shoulders and ever so sexy slit at the thigh so give it that much needed red carpet touch. With Jimmy Choo shoes and a Louis Vuitton clutch, we must agree, fashion is in her blood.

Comedy actress of 2010, Emma Stone got the look in one for this years Golden Globes. She is wearing a minimalist peach Calvin Klein dress which I must say look bang on for S/S 11. Also, with her new light hair colour, which is now epically blonde and Mary Norton hard-cased gold clutch, the outfit looks simple yet glamorous.

Well Done Natalie Portman for Best Performance in Black Swan, Christian Bale for The fighter and The Social Network for winning 4 awards!

So did you enjoy watching the awards? Or were you disappointed at the lack of beautiful dresses?

And if you're sick and tired of the beautiful americans winning all the awards, there's no need to worry. 15th February will be on it's way to give you the best of British talent, in this years Brit Awrds 2011.

'till next time, xoxo

What they wore #01: Covergirl's 50th Anniversary

Wednesday 5th January, was CoverGirl's 50th anniversary party in West Hollywood. So what exactly did the beautiful covergirls actually wear?

Here the actress of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Drew Barrymore is seen sporting a bright orange color Jil Sander dress and Hunting Season clutch. Personally, the dress seems like a 'potato sack', clutching at mid-calf, doing her no favours and by hiding her curvy figure and making her look stumpy. Also, the colour clashes with her tan , However, I am loving the ombre hair going from dark brown at the roots and ending with a light blonde at the tips.

90210 star and singer Jessica Lowndes is rocking a nude/cognac, leather mini from H&M. Yes, the dress does look very tight, but I think she can pull it off really well with her toned figure and exuberant confidence. Also, with animal print Brian Atwood sandals to give the look an exotic edge, and a Kotur black clutch and jewels by Adeler makes this look complete. And not to forget the loose care-free curls dropping to her shoulder, that help make the the overall look a little more relaxed.
Our favourite country artist Taylor Swift was the one to watch as also attended People's choice awards. She wore a safe Mark & James strapless dress, but the draping at the bust, the fancy sequins, and the loose hemline made this would've-been-boring LBD more glamorous. Matched with Black Dolce & Gabbana heels, topaz Neil Lane earrings, and a bright red pout made her look a mature and sophisticated.

The City reality-star and designer of Whitney Eve, opted for a pale blue vintage dress by What Goes Around Comes Around. The fabric and loose style makes this look effortlessly simple. Added with it a gold Giuseppe Zanotti clutch, caged Sergio Rossi heels, a BaubleBar bracelet. I am diggin' the royal red nail paint to add glamour but also the long relaxed hair to even out the look for a lovely night.

Brittan Snow form the hit-musical Hairspray As for Brittany Snow is wearing a Apocalyto dress, from high-street label ASOS. The printed evening dress with a square-cut neckline and pleating/draped bottom is perfect for this now blonde actress adding youth and femininity. The satin peep-toe Giuseppe Zanotti slingbacks match nicely to complete the look.

Our fave fashion icon, star of hit American series The Hills and now a beautiful novel writer, Lauren Conrad got the look right on. Sporting her new brunette do and saying goodbye to them L.A. locks, L.C gets her look bang on trend. Wearing a summer fabulous cream QUAIL wrap dress with ever so cute Jimmy Choo ember sandals, compliment the outfit perfectly. Oh my, this makes me miss summer even more.
Which outfit is you're favourite? Are you sat there with shoe envy? Or were you waiting for some sequined floor-length dresses to come up and are disappointed?
But don't worry, my next post on 'what they wore to the 2011 Golden Globes' will be full our gowns and higher than high up-dos!
'til next time, xoxo

Primark? Anyday!

So you all must be familiar with Primark's collection for a/w 2010. With lovely shiny, leather-like leggings, oh so cute clocks and of course a Primark specialties their lovely arrange of footwear. It's amazing how much my clothes actually come from Primark. Not only are they mega cheap (so you can buy lots of clothes for the price one item from Topshop) but aren't they all just gorgeous? But have you seen their s/s collection for 2011?

It's all so beautiful I already want all them outfits. Especially the nude knee lengthed skirt and with the the black stain top, that the model above is wearing. The mini-dresses are also fabulous. So light and they clinch at the waist to show of the figure all of us women posses. the footwear again is edgy and very fit for the summer. Open toes and wedges. But what I'm really diggin' is the satchel bags! I really, really want the white, navy blue and white one. It's just what i need to complete my summer outfits! arghhhh, all of this is making me soo excited for SUMMERR! holidays, festivals, endless amounts of ice cream and of course the chance to cute little white socks with clocks and wedges with BARE legs! Can't wait.

So do you all like Primark's new collection for s/s? Or is it too cheap and mainstream for y'all? Prefer Topshop or is Primark, like me perfect for every summer, due to the forever changing fashion trends?

Another snow day I hear?

So today was another lovely snow dayyyy! Wooop.

Lovely American-style breakfast today, though it was the last bagel, boo. Then lazeeeed until 1 when father came home with an all day ticket which took me to town to find a faux fur coat and once again no luck! Arghhhh! Then I got late for a revision session at notts uni. Which was pointless. Well I got some tea and cakes so not that bad actually. Then got home at 8, had some hot chocolate and now gonna watch Coco, avant Chanel, with subtitles of course.
OH AND ANOTHER SNOW DAY TOMORROW!

take a look at my beaut garden.

Snowwwwww Dayyyyyyyy!

So busy we all need a well deserved snow day!

Was woken up by the parents yelling at me to wake up in order to see the beautiful snow fall on the even beautiful layer of whiteness from the day before. But instead I checked facebook on my blackberry to see if the college has be closed for the day and It was! Woooop! It's funny how instead of checking our local radio Trent FM or the Bilborough College website, I checked fb. Because as we all know, news reaches our fb news feed before it does anyway else, right? So, I just told the parents that I had a day off for the snow, which they did not believe but let it pass as they saw me all curled and warm in bed. I think personally they were jealous of the fact that I could laze around all day and that they had to go to work, owwwh!

Anyhow, I work up at 10 and looked out of the window to see the soft and delicate snow fall onto the ground. Regardless of the amounts of casualties and injuries (frozen toes) the snow causes, you gotta admit it's darn right gorgeous. So then I turned the heater on in the study room, popped a cinnamon and raisin bagel in the toaster, covered it in nutella avec coffee and orange juice. Yummmmmmyyyyy! The best American style breakfast everrrrr!
What's better is that I have also decided to dedicate the whole day to missed episodes of Glee, Gossip Girl, 90210 and Misfits. With of course occasionally browses of blogs and facebook accompanied by my fave tracks at the moment (due to he limited use of megavideo, boo). I have just got though Glee and halfway though Gossip Girl. Glee was sooooo beautiful! Kurt and Finn's parents got married, they all danced beautifully and then Finn told Kurt how much he loved his new bro and how he will always support him. It then ended nicely with Bruno Mars - Just the way you are, and then Kurt leaving to join an all boys school. Owhhh!
The new Gossip Girl episode is so far a drag tbf. Just Serena overdosing and being a mardy but beautiful woman. Arggghh, I wish Blair and Chuck would just get back together :(, actually no. aAs I want to be Chuck's only woman, correction I WILL be his only woman.

I'm now deciding what to have for lunch, probs a ploughman's sandwich, a packet of crisps and oasis (so a la Boots, non?) probs accompanied by a cuppa tea. British lunch following by a American breakfast...ending with an Indian dinner. Yes please.

I wish I was having this instead.
The only thing I'm annoyed about lately is...actually a lot of things, so thank you snow day for easing down my stress level. I am currently very annoyed at the status of my ucas. It's gonna be a nearly 2 week since I've sent it off and it says 'your application has been sent for consideration.' Arggghh, just get to the point, reject me or accept me, make a decision now.please.thanks. All I've had is an email from university of york and notts ststing they have 'received' my application. That is all. :( Boo!

Also, I have a load of college work above my head. 2 exams in January plus a coursework deadline for the b part of Ireland history and the first draft of my epq which I haven't even started. Not to forget general revision and a extra class I have to go to tomorrow evening. Woop!

Also, my driving lesson is this week on Thursday, probs in the snow, which i am dreading, then the test near Xmas which I am also terrified of.

What's more is that I've been trying sooooo hard to find a faux fur coat for winter which I think is perfect, fits my budget and no one else has. Which I know is impossible but trust me I mostly always have clothes in my wardrobe that are cheap and that no one else has (go to carboots, they are the best!) However, for a fur coat it's sooooo difficult. For one my mother refuses to take me to the carboot as it's snowing and it's tooo cold. Also, all the fur jackets in the high street are either like £80 or like this one in New Look that I bought and returning, has been worn by 3 different people in town, so that's a big no no. Goshhhh, I sound snobby. sorry guys, It's just that I really like to wear thing NO ONE ELSE has. It's quite sad and childish but that's what make me, well me. So I'll guess I will have to make my own from animal fur. KIDDING GUYS! I'M A VEGETARIAN AND HAVE NO PETS DUE TO MY OBSESSIVE LOVE FOR FURRY CREATURES!!
On a lighter note. MY DRAKE TICKETS HAVE ARRIVED! they came in the post yesterday. I was soooo scared they wouldn't come as my sister ordered them (on my account) and I thought they'd be fake, also as my friends had signed up for etickets which had arrived before mine in the post. But itis fine now. All I'm doing now is counting the days until 14th January, when me and the sister will go on our dates with Drake and J.Cole (only I can dream) in Birmingham (which calls for shopppingggg as well).
Another exciting event is the annual snowball this Friday!!!! Hopefully it doesn't snow and we don't turn into ice in the cold. As the event planner, I have to arrive early to let people in and check the guest list, but it's gonna be impossible as I finish college at 4 and will get to my friends house to get ready at later than 5. Which means I cannot get to the venue before 7 as a girl need her much-needed glmming-up time, qui? I'm planning to wear a jersey black maxi dress with a lace pattern on the back with, lots of pearls in the accessories department and a short white faux fur jacket. Ooerrr! Very glam, non? Hopefully I don' look ott. Which I do most of he time anyway. I shall take lots of photos to show you all guys, so keep checking back.

'till next time, xoxo
